Katie, a freelance video editor in desperate need of work, receives a high-paying offer from an anonymous employer to edit a mysterious and bizarre video. Katie, penniless and facing eviction, eagerly takes on the task. The video shows people being tortured and even killed on camera, but it’s clearly just a cleverly staged fiction. But when this first job leads to even more lucrative work and more disturbingly realistic snuff films, Katie’s life begins to unravel. Strange figures in her apartment, terrifying nightmares that keep her awake, and a mysterious illness plaguing her cat. It’s only when Katie decides to quit her job for good that she discovers just how cruel her anonymous employer is and how far she herself is willing to go to get out of the contract.
