Olivia Burton, 23, moves to California with her boyfriend, Francis Morales, 24, who goes against the wishes of their family. Francis’ mother, Lillian, is a devout Catholic who disapproves of her son’s cohabitation and expresses her feelings in the form of violent, religious-themed postcards. Despite their objections, the young lovers settle into their exciting new life together. However, their happiness is cut short when a freak accident leaves Francis physically and mentally injured. He soon suffers from night terrors – whispering in his dreams to a figure Olivia cannot see and walking to strange corners of the house in his sleep. These episodes frighten Olivia and also suggest that Francis is hiding something from her. Her investigation leads to a terrifying and perverse discovery; They are haunted by the ghost of Francis’ childhood youth minister – an entity angered by their coexistence and come to punish them for their sins.
